Had a presentation go (really?) well today. Followed a mashup of recommendations:
Practiced my start and ending
After start, I told them the 3 things that were important about the presentation.
Went into each of them in a conversational tone. They’re things I know well enough.
Reminded of the 3 things.
Came back and tied to the practiced ending.
The original presentation time was 45 minutes. Delays made it so that I had 15min. Maybe they were happy because I finished on time – more than likely – but I did get a few kudos. And I’m happy to have represented a project that many are putting a lot of effort into.
On Wednesday, a 10 year journey reached its destination. I’m happy, sad, relieved, grateful, and committed with the implications. But mostly, I’m excited about the next 10 years and the new challenges we’ll face together as a family. 🇺🇸
