A(I) Time for Month to Month
One of the biggest changes in my computing workflow over the last two years has been the inclusion of dictation/transcription software. I’ve tried a few apps over that time: Superwhisper, Whisper Memos, WhisperType, Spokenly, VoiceInk, Raycast and Wispr Flow – and these are just the ones I’ve paid for.
After my promotional trial expired with Wispr Flow last week, I returned to VoiceInk on the Mac and Raycast on iOS to compare them again, since they’re apps to which I’m already subscribed. Have to say Wispr Flow is superior. But as I was ready to subscribe to another app and pay a year in advance because of the mermaid call of early adopter discount, I hear about yet another great alternative called Monologue.
Of course I’m going to try it, and maybe it’ll be the new default for a while. But too much is changing too fast – which is a great problem – and I’ll be evaluating with monthly subscriptions for now. Who knows, maybe the new Siri might even understand Spanglish? Nahh.
