La Paz Waterfall Gardens: About 90 min from our house in Escazú. As with most Costa Rica touristy locations, tickets are expensive but it’s very well setup. Fun day trip with the kids, although I wouldn’t recommend eating there — not sure if it was because of a holiday, but the food was not good. Otherwise, recommended.
I’m still bullish on Soylent because of its minimalist concept: if you’re not going to have a great meal, just drink 400kcal of something cheap (and not unhealthy) and move on. Many don’t agree, so it’ll be interesting to see how it does at Walmart.
Current cold brew coffee recipe:
- 1.5 cups of coarse dark roast - Slowly pour regular water until you fill French press (32oz) and wait 10 min. - Give it a good whirl and cover. - Wait 24 hours (not on fridge).
Then press and pass through a wet coffee filter.
Thought I was ser for life with my Goruck GR1 backpack and my Waterfield Bolt Briefcase… but they had to come up with a Bolt Backpack. Looks great.
Fun end of weekend con Aba.
Surprised I didn’t know about the Marta File Manager for macOS before. Extremely fast and clean. Love the terminal integration and the dual pane look. Leaving open for a few days.
Saw Annihilation tonight. Good movie, but not as mind blown as I expected to be — as Arrival did. Still, great to have sci-fi which doesn’t require turning off your brain’s higher functions.
1Password 7 Beta for Macis out. I’m traveling, so I can’t mess with my production setup. But they had me at markdown in notes.
Browsery, Barnes & Noble’s answer to Goodreads seems very interesting. Giving a few weeks try. (I currently track my reading on a Trello board).
No smart connector on new base iPad. The keyboard is Tim Cook’s two button mouse.
Costa Rica has pushed me to be an accidental coffee snob. Even an average bean gives a delicious crisp flavor.
Suddenly feel less bad about taking 3 months to finish Oathbringer 📚.

Would love a comparison between Studio Neat’s upcoming Mark One and Baron Fig’s Squire.
I have to agree out of principle… and justifying my eternal ToDo throughout my life 🔗 Why Rotating Task Managers Regularly Can Make You More Productive
No le pongamos el chupón para que no se duerma….
Going to give Jellies a try. YouTube Kid’s ad-supported model is starting to show more and more when I check on Robie’s videos. And recent news about their filtering algorithm worries me.
Sad that digg reader is shutting down. I’m a happy Feed Wrangler user, but the demise of RSS services feels ominous in the current environment of walled gardens online.
