Don't Look Back in Wonder
I never truly believed it, but I produce a lot of content. If you check my 5typos.net blog, there are hundreds of posts commenting on news and products since 2009. This blog also archives my Twitter posts and some personal entries. If anyone had access to my Day One journal, they’d see I’ve been journaling every day for over 2674 days.
I rarely revisit any of this. It’s like watching yourself in a video or hearing your own voice—strange and a bit awkward. Makes me cringe a bit when I think of rereading old stuff. However, when I do go back, the real feeling isn’t awkwardness; it’s surprise. I often surprise myself with what I’ve written, which feels like a meta imposter syndrome, uhm, syndrome.
This reminds me of my relationship with swimming. I never look forward to getting in the pool for a few laps, but after a swim I feel amazing. I’m in a better place, and that tells me something.
